whether... or...

にしろ〜にしろ lists alternatives to say the same conclusion holds in either case. Attach it to nouns or plain-form verbs. にせよ〜にせよ is a more formal variant. It means no matter which option, the result is unchanged.

  Iku ni shiro ikanai ni shiro, renraku shite kudasai.

  Whether you go or not, please let me know.

• 肉にくにしろ魚さかなにしろ、新鮮しんせんなものを選えらぶ。
